Guests from USA, Hamshen and Armenia Arrive in Akhaltsikhe PDF Print E-mail

On July 2, Armenians from Hamshen, the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America arrived in Akhaltsikhe where they participated in several events. Near the Bavra border checkpoint, General Arshaluys Paytyan and Member of Glendale City Council Zareh Sinanyan were greeted by several representatives of Akhaltsikhe and Akhalkalaki. On the road, at the invitation of Samvel Petrosyan, the guests visited Varevan village to participate in the event dedicated to the day commemorating Petros Abajan, who died in the battle for the liberation of Artsakh.

Father Tatev Harutyunyan, Pastor of the Saint Andrew Armenian Church in San Jose, of the Western Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church of North America, celebrated the Divine Liturgy at the Saint Gevorg Cathedral on Sunday. In attendance for the service were the Armenian faithful of Tbilisi, as well as almost thirty pilgrims from the Unites States of America, led by the Pastor.

The Armenian youth of Tbilisi, who are united around the Armenian Church, attend Sunday school and participate in different training courses and programs at the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia to stay clung to their roots, of course, had heard a lot about deceased puppeteer Gary Davtyan and the family puppet theatre. However, they had never had a chance to visit the house and to meet the puppets.
