Only a week ago, a solemn opening of the St. Gregory of Narek Educational, Cultural, Youth and Spiritual Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia took place, which will consolidate the Armenians of Rustavi. The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan blessed the Vemkar (the rock at the bottom of the Altar) and the Icon, where every Sunday the Divine Liturgy will be offered.

On May 16 and 18, 2017, under the presidency of His Holiness Karekin II, Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians; a meeting of the Supreme Spiritual Council was convened at the headquarters of the Armenian Diocese of Russia and New Nakhijevan (Moscow, Russia). The Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Supreme Spiritual Council member, also participated in the meeting.

On May 8, 2017, a Regional Conference on Contemporary Issues of Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) in Armenia, Georgia and beyond kicked off in Yerevan at Armenia Mariott hotel. The conference was organized by Eurasia Partnership Foundation, supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of Netherlands to Armenia and Georgia. Guests included state officials, religious leaders, representatives of civil society and academia from Armenia and Georgia, the representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Armenia, and from the Georgian Public Defender's Office.
