Despite the cold weather, the day was festive in the village of Gumburdo of the Akhalkalaki region. April 22, 2017 is an important date in the history of the village. Easter celebrations at the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia were held according to the rites and canons of the Armenian Church, with the participation of many faithful. Just as on Easter Eve (Candlelight Divine Liturgy), so on Easter in Tbilisi, Samtskhe-Javakheti, Marneuli, Tsalka region and Batumi religious ceremonies were conducted with the participation of many faithful. And inasmuch as this year the Armenian Church and the Georgian Orthodox Church celebrated Easter simultaneously, the feast became more solemn and crowded.

On April 15, 2017, the Eve of the Feast of the Glorious Resurrection of Jesus Christ, a Candlelight Divine Liturgy was celebrated in the churches of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia. That day, according to established ceremony, lamps are lighted in the Church, the curtain of the holy altar is open, lit candles are distributed to the faithful, following which the Divine Liturgy is held.
