On March 24, 2017, the RA Ministry of Diaspora held a teleconference with representatives of the Alexander Mantashyants Educational-Cultural and Youth Center in Batumi. The objective of the structure that unites Armenians dispersed around the world was through direct communication to learn more about the activities of the Armenian community of Adjara, particularly the Armenian community of Batumi, the current pressing issues concerning the community and goals for the future.

The Median Day of Great Lent is called Mijink, it is accompanied by many traditions. For example, the housewives bake unleavened cake or gata.

On March 19, 2017, the Galouste Gyulbenkyan Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted the screening of the film “Famous Historian and Armenologist Vardan Grigoryan” from the documentary series “Armenian Honored Workers”. The film examines the biography of the eminent scientist and honest citizen, his scientific efforts, journalistic and civic activities.
