On April 12, 2017, as a part of a series of commemorative events for the Armenian Genocide in the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, an event titled “The Armenian Woman during the Genocide” was held. The Association of Armenian Women of Georgia “Shushanik”, in cooperation with the Hayartun Center of the Armenian Diocese in Gerogia, initiated the event. The main purpose was to expand the scope of the audience, to bring the issue of the Armenian Genocide atrocities to the attention of the foreign listeners, in understandable language, and to present the heroic image of the Armenian woman in the preservation of the Armenian identity.

On April 8, 2017, the Calouste Gulbenkian hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted a lecture titled “Jerusalem’s The Armenian Quarter”. The initiative of the founding director of the Sergei Parajanov Museum, artist and photographer Zaven Sargsyan, to give a lecture on the Holy Places in Jerusalem, particularly the Armenian Quarter, in the great period of Lent, was welcomed by the Armenian community of Tbilisi with great pleasure and profound gratitude.

On April 9, 2017, Christians around the world partook in celebrations of Palm Sunday, which commemorates the triumphant entry of our Lord Jesus Christ into Jerusalem. On the occasion of the Feast, a Divine Liturgy was offered in all the functioning churches of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Holy Church in Georgia.

On April 9, 2017, Day of National Unity was celebrated in Georgia. The officials of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the representatives of the Armenian community in Tbilisi, led by the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, visited the memorial to the anti-Soviet peaceful protestors, tragically killed on April 9, 1989, in front of the Parliament Building.
