On March 17, 2017, within the frames of his one-day official visit to Akhalkalaki, the U.S. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Georgia Ian Kelly visited the Surb Khach (Holy Cross) Church in Akhalkalaki (Armenian Diocese in Georgia). Ambassador Kelly lit candles and raised a prayer together with the clergy in the Armenian Church.

On March 11, 2017, at the initiative of the Cultural Department (Director, Levon Chidilyan), the Department of Youth Affairs (Director, Valeri Badalyan), the Department of Education (Director, Eugenia Markosyan) of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, the students of St. Gregory of Narek Saturday School and the students of the creative groups of the Hayartun Center went on excursion to Georgian National Museum Shalva Amiranashvili Museum of Fine Arts. The excursion for almost sixty students of different ages was organized under the direction of the diocesan officials and in the company of teachers and parents.

On March 3, 2017, Ninotsminda’s “Rafael Javakh” Center of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted an event under the motto: “How are you student doing?” The event, held at the initiative of the Center, was attended by 20 alumni from the region, who attend higher education institutions in Tbilisi and Yerevan. Twelve of them are the former students of the Center.
