Eighteen students that graduate this year from the Saint Movses Khorenatsi Preschool at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia will continue their education in public schools. The good news is that eleven of them plan to attend Armenian schools – ten have chosen Tbilisi № 104 Armenian school and one - № 103 Armenian-Georgian Public school.

From May 4 to 11, 2017, a group of Armenian faithful of the Surb Prkich (Saint Savior) Church in Batumi (Armenian Diocese in Georgia) spent unforgettable and the happiest days of their lives. 18 Armenians of Batumi, upon receiving the blessings of His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan, Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia; led by Rev. Father Ararat Gumbalyan, Pastor of the Surb Prkich Church (Saint Savior) in Batumi and of Armenian community in Adjara, Guria and Imereti; traveled to Jerusalem. The pilgrimage lasted for 7 days. Their big dream to visit Jerusalem came true.

Starting May 2, 2017, at the initiative and with the financial support of the Headquarters of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, St. Movses Khorenatsi Primary School in Tbilisi provides children extra instructional time. Kindergarten will start at 9:30 am; the kindergarten students will finish school at 4:30 pm.

On April 30, 2017, the Rafael Javakh Cultural Educational and Youth Center in Ninotsminda at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted the final stage of the intellectual game called “Study Your Nation’s History”. Among the participants were more than 30 students of the Center’s Armenian History courses (teacher - Samvel Putulyan), Religion courses (teacher - Rimma Sahakyan), History of Art courses (teacher – Zhora Snkhchyan).

On April 30, 2017, the Galouste Gyulbenkyan Hall of the Hayartun Center at the Armenian Diocese in Georgia hosted the screening of the documentary film “Return of the Poet”. The film director, founder of the Golden Apricot International Film Festival, Harutyun Khachatryan, had eagerly anticipated the screening of his film and meeting with Armenian audience in Tbilisi. But, due to sickness, the stage director was unable to come to Tbilisi and attend the screening of the film dedicated to Ashug Jivani and Javakheti.
