On September 17, 2015, the Ilia Chavchavadze Hall of the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia hosted an event dedicated to the presentation of the book issued within the framework of the “Religion and Right” project of the State Agency for Religious Issues of Georgia. On September 13, 2015, the Ayazma village of the Tsalka region hosted an ashik song festival dedicated to the master of ashik songs Gusan Havasi (Armenak Parsami Markosyan), who was born in this village. Local and regional officials, guests from Georgia and Armenia visit this festival, which has been traditionally celebrated every September since 1991, dedicated to the National Artist of Armenia, Gusan Havasi.

On September 14, 2015, the newly-appointed spiritual shepherd of the Marneuli region, Archimandrite Ter Khoren Hovhannisyan paid his first visit to the Marneuli region’s Armenian communities, accompanied by the Rev. Fr. Ter Manuk Zeinalyan from Tbilisi Saint Etchmiadzin Church and Hovsep Chirakhov. His visit coincided with the beginning of the new academic year in Georgia. Father visited № 1 Public school in the Shahumyan settlement (Director – Artyush Urumyan) and the public school in the Akhkiorpi village (Director – Violeta Sukiasyan) and conveyed the blessings and best wishes and a gift (The Children’s Bible) from the Primate of the Armenian Diocese in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan to the students, parents and teachers.

On September 14, 2015, the new 2015/16 academic year started in Georgia’s educational institutions. The first bell announcing the beginning of the studies rang also in Georgia’s Armenian Schools. Currently, there are more than 150 educational institutions in Georgia teaching in Armenian. In Tbilisi the Armenian Public school № 104 and the public schools with Armenian departments № 132 and №103 opened their doors to Armenian students. Many NGO representatives, teachers and graduates visited № 104 Public school on this occasion.
