On 28 March, on Holy Thursday, in Tbilisi Surb Etchmiadzin Church of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia under the leadership of the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan Divine Liturgy was conducted. Priest Manuk Zeinalian held a church service. After that the Spiritual Shepherd in Tbilisi Surb Etchmiadzin Church Samvel Torosian read a sermon on the occasion.

Following the Evening Service, the Service of the Washing of the Feet was conducted. Christ, displaying true humility and humbleness, washed the feet of his disciples after the last Supper. Following His example, the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan in the Armenian Church humbled himself and knelt down on the bema, in front of the Church altar, and under the hymns washed the feet of 12 children, anointing their feet with blessed oil.


In the evening of the Holy Thursday, a solemn service called Khavaroom (darkness) was held, which is the introduction to Good Friday. It symbolizes the Crucifixion, Death and Burial of Our Lord Jesus Christ. During the service under the leadership of the Primate of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Orthodox Church in Georgia, His Grace Bishop Vazgen Mirzakhanyan Gospel readings recalled the prayer of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, His betrayal, arrest, and the denial of Peter.


In the churches of the Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Georgia on Holy Thursday the service of the Washing of the Feet and Khavaroom (darkness) were conducted.
